Well people don't just break into a car unless you have something they want. So how about you keep your vaulables out of sight.

To above: Whats your response when someone breaks into your apartment during the middle of the day? Like mine and my neighbors were, I think the OP is stating it not a very safe/secure place to live, to which I would agree.
