I have lived here for less then a year and I will have to agree with residents that have lived here that what you see is not what you get!! The reason ppl keep saying the same things is b/c it is all true. Although I have never meet the new property manager I believe her intent is good for now anyway. I will have to add good luck cleaning up this place.... As far as the maintience people they need to be fired!! They are lazy and how they keep a job is beyond me! If you really want to fix this place up you will get rid of them and hire someone who know what the hell they are doing! Yeah all the ppl at DWA is nice, but the service sucks bad... Work orders don't get placed or the ladies in the office blames mait. and mait, blames them...LOL Point is you get the run around about the problems in your apt to the point you get tired of complaining!!
Since I have lived here these are the problems I have had and the reason I will be moving ASAP! Believe me if the funds were avalible I would already be gone.
- When I moved in there was animal urine smell that was horrible (I did not notice it during the walk through b/c they just "cleaned" the carpet) it took them two months to relace the carpet, meanwhile I couldn't stay here with my crawling child!
I also have mold in here and have complained numerous times still nothing done!!
- Everyone in my building has complained about the meth heads cooking meth in the building and I guess the zero tolerance agaist drugs policy they have you sign when you move in at Decatur Woods dosen't apply to them....I guess when then place blows up and they have a lawsuit they will take it a little more seriously!
- They used to have a wrecker company come in and tow any cars that didn't belong here, not any more.. Now if the meth heads have all thier meth head friends over for a 4 day binge I have to park far from my apartment and walk my duaghter in at 10 oclock at night. Not to mention day and night i see drug deals go on right outside in plan veiw so I worry about mine and her safety everytime I come home...This is no way to live!!! I can not see or hear my car alarm from where I have to park now and lastnight there was a car broken into!!
One good thing I can say is they have a company come out and do the yard work often...
So to the new mananager:
I have voiced some pretty vaild points as to why these people keep saying the same thing. No need to copy and paste the same response that you have to all the other post..Here are my main concerns right now, I will not be coming to see you I do not have the time. PLEASE GET RID OF THESE DRUG DEALERS AND DRUG USERS!!! BRING BACK THE PARKING PASSES AND TOW!! GET THE SECURITY GUARD BACK!!! GET RID OF MAINTENACE!!! Just take some advice from one manager to another if you really mean what you say do it PLEASE b/c if you don't the problems here will cause you to quit. Why do you think all the others quit' One got fired for calling the board of health on her own company b/c she couldn't handle mait, not fixing problems. I wish you luck fixing this place up and hope that you do. The safety and well being of your tenants lives is in your hands!

The last two months we have been implementing changes to ensure that Decatur Woods will remain to be a great community to call home for years to come. I do agree that while we have made great strides, we are still a work in progress as change does take time. I urge you to contact me by phone or in person. While we are attempting to make changes throughout the community, I need the help of residents like you so that I may find all the troubled problems and implement these changes. We have several more changes to come that will benefit Decatur Woods and are valued residents.
