This is not to discourage anyone from moving into Deercross Apartments. This is just to let potential renters know that (said apartments) is only there to "lease rental property" and to service any maintenance problems which may occur. Which means: said apartments is not responsible for your personal safety, the safety of your guests, and most importantly your property, such as vandalism to your vehicle and theft. Nor is said apartments interested in preventing these unfortunate events. My advice. Lock and alarm your vehicles, Never walk the paths at night. Pay attention to your surroundings when walking up to your apt building. Arm yourself with either mase, a loud keychain alarm, or other registered weapons. I say this because no one is looking out for your safety. Encase said apartments failed to inform you. There is no security provided just a curtesy officer. If something should occur. "DO" complain to the office as well as their corporate offices. You may be let out of your lease. Be safe!!!

OK I agree but this goes for any rental property in the world. I would like to know exactly what it is you think should be done. Hire someone to stand guard at your door step if that is what you want. I am so sick of reading these STUPID post. I mean do you read it when your done and listen to what you're saying. I lived there for 5 years as a single girl and not one single problem. That is deffinatly not to say that there are no problems but come on. Believe me it could be much worse. Go buy a house way out in the country away from everything. That is the only place someone like you will find peace trust me.

This is for None61286, i take it that someone in the office set you up to reply to this. I firmly feel what safety_1st is saying. Just because YOU have not had a bad experience doesnt mean that other havent, and they choose to voice how they, or WE feel about the community. Yeah, i will say, its a nice community during the DAY but at the night hours is when the prowlers come out. THAT IS FACT. Also a fact is that the office doesnt really care to hear about what goes on, NOR if willing to do anything about it, NOR do anything to prevent it from happening again. The office show NO sympathy about losses or damages, and why should they, "they are only there to sell apartment units". Right? If you would look around the community, there is someone new moving in at least every other week in the community, and at the same note, there are equally or MORE people moving out. Why is that. I take it that you are the ONLY person outside of a FEW exceptions that have lived there for 5 years with no incident. So tell me, you couldnt drive in anything nice around there, if you do, you must not have anything of value (ie. stereo and custom wheels) b/c if you look around. Most of the cars, like mine also was customized and valdalized on numerous occasions. So, you go ahead and take your bucket that you drive in and continue to live there unsafely if you want...your time will come. just watch out, they will et you too eventually...that is IF YOU REALLY LIVE THERE...

Ok realblkman, this is none61286 and what the hell are talking about? First of all I dont live there anymore I moved last year and I no longer know anyone in that office so no acctually these are my opinions and I never said that you all arent entitled to your own opinion, but at the same point I dont understand exactly what it is you want to see happen, You live in an apt ok. Call the police dept. Did you ever think of that. Another idea since you have such a nice car why dont you use some of your money and buy a house?????????? Thats just an idea since you are so unhappy there. You are right I never did have any circumstances where anyone robbed me or anything, but that is also because I do not associate with people like that and most of the time when people get robbed its people they know. start by Choosing your friends wisely. You said the office staff dosent do anything about the safety. What is your suggestion? I mean you seem to know everything from how to run the apartments to what kind of car or "bucket" I should say I drive so what are you ideas on the problem?

I agree with none61289. It is unfortunate when things happen, but I lived at a community in Fishers and there were about 10 cars broken into a week, including mine on 2 occassions. I have never had my car broken into here. Safety is first, but these people don't work 24 hours a day, and part of your safety is YOU being aware, etc. Why would you rely on someone else to provide your safety? Oh, and did you know the management is PAYING the Sherriff's Dept to patrol through here on various shifts? Yeah, I noticed the Sheriffs around all the time and asked one of them why they were here so often. And they said, the management was paying them to be here. Outside of a barbed wire fence around the community and each building and each car, not sure what else you expect. This is the WEst Side of Indy!

I agree with safety first. Within 4 months my car has been broken into, and then stolen. And it WAS a piece of crap car. Why someone would want it, I have no idea. Also, I resent that you would impugne my friends...I know none of them stole my car (or broke into it), and I don't associate with "people like that" either. When I complained to the apartment office they showed no sympathy, and just repeated that my lease says they're not responsible. Also, I used to see the policemen around last summer, but I haven't seen them in months. And what could they do? Employ more security. Make sure that the lights in the parking lot work all the time (they're out more than they're on). Maybe screen apartment applicants a little more carefully. But since it's a cheap apartment, I guess you get what you pay for. Which is why I'm moving out.

That's why I like Bavarian Village. Far from the inside of the city and gated.
