Not too bad...

I have lived here for almost a year (still debating on whether or not to renew my lease). Maintenance is horrible here! Emergency maitenance rarely responds. Our A/C unit has broken three times - the first time was the day we moved in (in mid-august). It took them over a week to fix the unit the next two times. We were told it had to be 90 degrees in our apartment before they would repair it - 90 degrees! We were told we'd get a new unit; we still don't have one, although it is now working. The dishwasher didn't work when we moved in, either. Pieces were broken in the bottom of the unit. It took forever to get a new one. We have a leak in our bathroom ceiling, which has been plastered over. It began to leak again through the new plaster. We have called on it at least five times. There is still a leaky hole in our bathroom ceiling. Our water heater wouldn't properly work (didn't keep water hot for longer than 15 minutes). The maintenance guy came to fix it. He emptied the unit (which leaked all over our laundry room and kitchen floor), and filled it back up again. He didn't even offer to help clean up the gallons of water on the floor! Our bedroom and laundry room leaked when we got the first big rain of the season. They sucked all the water out of the bedroom, leaving it still damp and did nothing the laundry room, which has now been flooded twice. We were told our carpets would be cleaned because of the leak - it still hasn't happened. Emergency maintenance is for leaks and A/C heating problems. Not once has emergency maintenance helped us for these problems, as the guys who repair leaks and A/C units aren't on call. There are cars in the parking lot that have NEVER been moved (broken down, flat tires, etc), taking up spaces for everyone else. It took nearly five months to get a screen door to our patio.
The workout and laundry room was broken into and it was changed from 24 hours to office hours for over a month. The tanning bed is very old and outdated and doesn't tan. I haven't even been to the swimming hole of a pool they have. We are now experiencing spider and ant problems, along with some crazy looking black bugs I've never seen.
On the plus side, they have nice equipment in the workout facility (when it is working). The neighborhood is super quiet (at least where I live - a one bedroom building). We have had no noise issues, no vandalism or crime. There are no children running rampant. The staff can be friendly, as long as you aren't complaining about maitenance issues. It is a very small neighborhood nestled in between a school and a residential area. There is a world of difference between this neighborhood and those directly across the interstate. Over all, the issues are solely with maintenance. We currently have maitenance issues but it almost isn't worth the hassle. If you aren't picky about these issues (or geese), then move here - it's not too bad.
