Not Impressed

Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2008
Although I had no complaints while a resident here, the ownership change has left a lot to be desired. The apartment complex was purchased in the summer of 2008 and since then, they have been extremely difficult to deal with.
I moved out in the middle of July 2008. As of March 13,2009 I have yet to see the check for the balance of my July's rent, the security deposit, and other deposits. In sum, I'm still waiting for my check of nearly $300. Eight months of phone calls and office visits is beyond ridiculous for these funds to be returned.
The property manager is extremely difficult and unhelpful. When I went in to the office to request a receipt of all my 2008 rent for tax purposes, I was informed that the property manager did not have my records and would not provide me those files. Only after I threatened to request the IRS audit their books did she relinquish.
While living there I had no problems or complaints, it is the process of getting my money back that is rightfully owed to me that has caused me to regret my choice of living at this complex.
Because of my experience after moving out, I would not recommend this apartment.
