After my first few months of living here it was okay but since then I have had a severe change of mind. I have reported 5-6 times (during a 3 months period) about a leak in my bathroom sink and the apt complex maintenance has done nothing about it even though they did fix 2 other items in a decent amount of times. They decided to fix the apt complex pool in the only months that it is available to be open. I dont know why they coulndt have fixed it in the 8 months that the pool is closed. I have personally served in the Marine Corps in Iraq, East Timor, and have been in some of the most war torn 3rd world nations on this planet and have never ever seen roads this bad. I have talked to 5 people that said they have flat tires because of the pothole mess all around the complex. Im pretty sure its not the complex's fault because there are 5 complexes in this area but its pretty pathetic when property management companies have to lobby the local government to fix the roads-theres problems. IF YOU OWN A CAR OR USE ONE WHATSOEVER-DO NOT MOVE INTO THIS COMPLEX!!! IM TRYING TO SAVE YOU POSSIBLE HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS ON CAR REPAIRS.

Seriously, nobody can jack up your rent without your knowledge. That statement is just stupid. when you sign a lease you are legally bound to the contract. (AS IS THE MANAGEMENT) It's funny how these reviews are only written when people are angry because they dont get their way.

My lease is coming to an end and it might be the most exciting move for me. My brother lived her in the past and said that you get what you pay for and I believe him but honestly it??s been a stressful Six Months for me.
First, I had a lot of trouble with the air conditioner not working. The first time, I noticed the carpet was wet by the ultity closet. When I opened it up there a pipe leaking so I called the emergency maintence right away and he came out and fixed it. A day or two later it started to leak again, so once again I called and he replaced the entire pipe. When I would turn the Air Conditioner on, it still stayed really warm in the apartment. At one point I put my hand over a vent and it was blowing warm air. For awhile it was okay because it was cool enough outside but I also discovered when you open the windows the traffic noise from I-70 can be a bit irritating. When it did get too hot, it became almost unbearable and it took them a week and a half to finally figure out what was wrong.
Second, this can be an issue anywhere but my upstairs neighbors were loud. They tend to stomp when they walk and it goes on all night. You can hear the next door neighbors talking or hear their TV. Most of the neighbors were friendly but there were also a few who are young and have a lot a guest over but not crazy loud and booming music. But when some move out others move in and suddenly I see this guy asleep in the front yard and another guy pacing the complex. People tend to ball up the rug in the front to keep the door propped open and my buzzer never worked. I always had people come in through my patio or by making them call my cell and meeting them at the front.
Third, the hallways need a good paint job and new carpet. It also reeked with the combination of Pot, Dog Crap, and other people??s smells. They need to replace the lights as well. I hate walking down the hallway because it feels like a Stephen King movie, I??m just waiting for two little kids to appear one day. About once a month there is a sweet lady who vacuums and shampoos the carpet, cleans the windows in the hallways but its just time for them put in new carpet and do a good scrubbing.
Fourth, the laundry room isn??t kept clean and the paint in there is peeling because there is so much moisture in there. People tend to leave their clothes unattended and sometimes forced to use another floor. There are only 2 washers and 2 dryers and the wash machines are very small. A weeks worth of clothes for me, barely fits in there. People do not clean out the dryer lint either. That may not be Fisherman??s Village fault but I think they should at least come in and attempt to make it look clean.
Fifth, parking sucks. My building wasn??t that bad but on weekends it??s packed and people don??t exactly park straight in their spot making it hard to squeeze in and the fear that someone is going to tend my door one of these days. I go out of my way to park on the other side of the building where no one is at and just walk. There are also a lot of rusty run down cars just chilling that I don??t see moved very often. I also live on the road Mariner Way, it was filled with just a bunch of potholes. They did eventually fix it but there are cars that will park on the curb of the road and I swear there are days I thought I was going to have a head-on because people like to speed down the road and I??m almost driving up on the grass.
Sixth, I was willing to stay for a full year but alas my roommate and I can??t get along. I could go into detail but it??s either or our fault. It just wasn??t working out. When we went to the leasing office to find out what to do, if one of us can stay or downgrade the leasing office told us that one didn??t have credit and the other didn??t have enough income. So I said I can get a cosigner but apparently, I??m not the one with any credit and a cosigned wont work for me and my roommate doesn??t have a cosigner in town, so we??re were stuck together until one gets credit or the other gets a bigger income. I went on freecreditreport.com to check my credit and it well above the 700??s on a low-risk scale. I??m very puzzled. Did they not run my credit score again or just at when I first moved in? I might not know a lot about how loans and cosigners work but they did very little to explain and said ??that??s how it is,?? it was that right there that made me decide not to stay because a few weeks later I went to an another apartment complex and was approved lickty split by myself and their lease appears to be much more strict.
But not everything is negative about this apartment complex. I enjoyed the large lake the convenience of the stores near by. Even during the races, it never got that crazy in the area. There is a apartment complex right next to us that shady people tend to reside at but the police always patrolled the area. There was a very nice woman name Amy at the leasing office who is willing to work with you but I don??t think I like the other girls that much. Especially because one said I could cosigner and the other said that I couldn??t have a cosigner. They both had two different answers to the same question. So irritating.
Sorry for the long review but if you do decide to go with the apartment, it??s a good starter apartment for college students or anyone trying to get out on their own but I would avoid signed a 12 month lease. The price for the 6 month lease is worth it, especially if have any problems you can just leave and not have to worry about breaking the lease or bombing your credit score.
There were no crime, no reports of break-ins, no vandalism, the pool was redone and is very nice, there??s a tennis court, a volley ball court, and an option of a beautiful lake view. No wild 24 hour parties. I had a unique experience and decided for my own benefit I shouldn??t continue living there.
