Like the suburbs in downtown

I chose Gardens of Canal Court, because the location offers a downtown location with a suburban feel. There are lots of trees and flowers in the complex and it feels less urban than some other apartments downtown. However, it is about a 10 or 15 minute walk to the heart of downtown. This is one of the few apartments downtown that I could find that came with a washer and dryer in the apartment. My absolute favorite thing about this apartment complex is the location on the canal. If you like to take walks or bike ride in a scenic area, this is the place for you. In my opinion, the canal and museum area is the best part of downtown Indy and this complex is right in that area. My apartment did face Martin Luther King Jr. street and that was quite noisy. There are about 3 hospitals pretty close to the apartment, which means there are sirens almost constantly, although you do get used to the noise. Also, there is signifcant traffic noise, since the interstate is very close by. Living downtown, you do expect this kind of noise, so I can't complain too much. Parking can be tricky if you tend to come home during the week late at night. Other than that, I only had a problem a couple of times finding a spot right in front of my building. Before I moved in I read reviews with horror stories about parking, car break-ins and huge spiders. None of these were an issue at all in the year I spent here. I would highly recommend Gardens of Canal Court to anyone wanting to live comfortably downtown.
