Do not live here!!

Problems' Where shall I start' The problems that we have encountered at Village Park are numerous! My whole building is full of people in a drug/alcohol rehab program. They don't work, they don't sleep, they are loud and obnoxious, and they loiter outside the entrance to the building and smoke all day long! Before renting, we were not advised that we would be living surrounded by these people and we are very disturbed by their presence! I can't even walk my dog without receiving a lewd comment or whistle from loitering people and/or people driving by in cars. In addition, the couple in the apartment next door are constantly fighting. We've had the sheriff out more than 3 times now. They scream and holler and beat on one another at least 3 times per week. The people in my building have called the office many times about this and to my knowledge nothing has been done about it! Also, the parking is horrible! There are two cars (one with no plates and one with plates that expired in May) that have not moved once since we rented in January. The other cars belong to the drug/alcohol people and they take up all the good spots in front of the building and never move them. My car broke down in the complex a few months ago. It was not blocking traffic or spaces. I had to call the auto club and wait 53 minutes for a tow. While waiting, management called the sheriff on me and told the sheriff that my car had been there for over 3 hours. The sheriff admitted to me that he knew the car couldn't have been there for that long because the engine was still warm. When I confronted managment about this outright lie they denied it and advised me that the first thing I should have done when my car broke down was to call them and let them know (yeah, like that's the first thing on my mind when my new used car breaks down). The manager was extremely rude to me and did not even bother to apologize for lying. Another time, I called the office to ask if they had any pizza delivery menus I could look at since I was new to the complex and had no phone book yet. The asst. manager advised me that she "had more important things to do" (more important than helping the tenants who pay rent') and that I should look at a phone book or call directory assistance. She then promptly disconnected the call. My carpet was not new when I moved in, the dishwasher has stopped working, pipes are old and there is never enough hot water during the morning, and I've had to fix the screen door on my balcony myself 3 times now because it keeps falling off. Management even went so far as to call a friend of mine who did me a favor by writing my rent check (I gave her cash because I was between banks at the time and they don't accept cash for rent) just to "make sure she actually wrote the check". Her phone number wasn't even printed on the check! She was a previous tenant and they happened to have her new number in their file. Both my sister and parents have written my rent check in the past (their numbers ARE printed on the checks) and management has never called them' That's like accusing me of check forgery! These are only a few of the problems we are having. We have pages of horror stories too numerous to type in this little box. All this in 9 months that we have lived there. We are miserable and will not be renewing our lease! 3 months of torture remains.
