Not enough to get by

The size of the apartments are nice. The reason for us moving here. Saving enough money, and still have use of all our furniture till we are able to purcharse our home. However, I have to say, I am very disappointed in this apartement complex. I lived at Amili apartments before. Was paying twice as much for half the living space. I am sorry I left Amili, and have re-thought my move. My apartment falls apart around me, and when I do call for maintenece, it is patched. Water damage is painted over, old parts are used to fix things. I have never had a bug problem other than crickets and ants, now I have roaches. As clean as I keep my apartment, I was told I needed to clean behind my fridge and stove. So weekly I would scoot them out and wipe the walls, and spray them with bug killer. However, the hole in back of the stove was working alive with roaches. My weekly cleaning and spray hardly did the job. They were in the walls, and from another tenent. I complained about the children in teh hallway. Running and banging on the wall. Only real damage done was I had some picture frames knocked off and one picture get scratched. The annoyance itself became a problem. Loud music, and 6-13 year old children cursing in the hallway. When I brought this up with the office, they would send someone down, usually 20-40 mins later. The kids would most of the time be gone, or they would catch one or two stragglers. Take thier names, and then tell me they have done so. I complained several more times after that, but my calls fell on deaf ears. They came later and later, or sometimes not at all. Other times, I was told they were short staffed and could not handled. it. Mostly I think I became the woman who complained all the time. So I stopped complaining, kept my child inside the house (although we never venture further than our patio due to the dog mess all over) and waited till our move date. Village park has a very nice space to offer. Would be a great place for families. I believe if they get the right company there, to take care of the property, staff the office, and enforce the rules, Village park would be a wonderful place to live. For now, I would rather live in place that was smaller, and charged more that took care of it's facilities, property, and a well staff office.
