we just received a contract wanting us to agree to start paying water. This would be ok except that they are basing usage on size of unit. so a single person living in a 3 bedroom unit will pay the same as 10 people in the same unit. they claim they have some kind of equation they have used. I'm thinking give me my own meter. I plan to contact Call 6 and other agencies to find out the legalities of this. Just because some units are sheltering more people than allowed and using extra water, the rest of us should not have to pay. Maybe management should police those units with more people living there than are listed on the lease. Units with babies and small children do not use the same amount of water as 6 adults. There is nothing fair in this equation and I plan to prove it. They also raised the rent recently which should've covered the additonal water expenses. Either the utilities are included or they should be in our own names with us being responsible.

No kidding! And they claim that we're only paying half of the water and trash! We have 4 people living in a 3 bedroom and our monthly "water" tends to cost us about $16. My family has a home that has 5 times the square footage, they water the lawn, etc. and their 100% bill for the month is $15. Where is the half? I don't see how this is legal either. I never signed the stupid addendum.

Well, we lived there and our toilet constantly was broken and kept flushing itself - so that was some extra water usage -- and the maintence men wouldn't fix it.
