Don't Go Here

I know lots of people move here from lack of funds - but seriously, try to skimp somewhere else and get anywhere else. I lived here with my parents a few years back and we were constantly harassed by the apartments. It went down to them not being happy with the color curtains we had hung up. They never would fix the appliances. You also get to pay part of your water bill - which they claim is half, but at $15 dollars a month, it's about the same as if you had to pay a full water bill at a house!

The fridge's freezer (which is supposed to defrost itself) froze up over and over and the maintenance claimed we were spilling water in there. The oven wouldn't cook anything right and we were told to bake stuff on BROIL, which basically burns anything within two minutes! The central air never worked on the upstairs in the townhomes - and towards the end it didn't work downstairs either. The dishwasher looked as if it came over on the ark. All the cabinets were falling apart. The water heater takes hours to get hot water back.

We got suspicious a meth lab was being run in an apartment and the ladies in the office had this to say and I remember it verbatim "it's not like we're wearing a sheriff's badge". So basically they don't care if an unit blows up. We had all the windows busted out of one of our cars once and they wouldn't do anything about it - we also had a license plate sticker stolen! A neighbor threw a soda can at the window of my fiance's car and they also wouldn't do anything - and we lived within seeing distance of the office. There have been numerous break-ins and if you have anything outside, you better not like it since it probably won't last long. Police officers basically won't come any more - they just tell you to move.

The noise level is horrible, the insulation SUCKS which makes the average renter pay about an $200 dollar electric bill in the winter - sometimes more - just to warm a townhome that is 750 sq feet. The christmas lights stay up year round, you are not allowed to decorate the outside at all, have over two items in the backyard and they yell at you, etc. The upstairs is full of mold and the ants come in by the thousands in the summer. Parking can be a nightmare since they say you are only allowed two vehicles - but you will find RV's, work trucks, etc (which are plainly said in the lease as not allowed) parked around.

There is only one laundry facility on site and there is only eight washers and dryers - and believe me, you better have a couple dollars just to dry. You also have to bring your own coins. Do NOT buy anything out of the vending machines by the laundry facility - everything expired several years before. The pool is located behind there and it stays green! The shower room is disgusting - and you are required to take a shower before you get in. They have a person there to make sure you do.

Back to the ladies in the office, they are horrible to deal with. They really don't give a damn what the renters think at all. They pick and choose who to pick on and when they set their eyes on you, beware since you will be harassed til the day you move. At least twice a year we'd get notices they wanted to change our blinds since they are supposedly broken or discolored and they wanted to charge $30 dollars per set. You won't find the correct size anywhere - the windows are unnaturally wide. If you have a flat more than an hour, they will stick your car to be TOWED - same if you don't move your car around once a week.

If you ask for the number of the corporate office, the ladies in the office say they are not at liberty to say. So now that I have moved, here it is for anyone to see - go to this link and you will find the address, phone number, and fax number for Barrington Group, Inc - the people who manage the apartments. http://www.bgiapartments.com/

1. The pool does not stay green it is kept clean and the bathroom as well. 2. Buy a house! The $15 "water" bill is for water, sewer and trash removal. Pay that living in a house. 3. Who did you tick off to get all of your windows smashed? and 4. I didn't know 1 person could drive more that 1 vehicle at a time, so even with yourself and a significant other that only totals 2. And by the way your "allowed" as many cars as you may have. Just don't expect to have a parking space alloted to you for all of them, after all if everyone in the complex had three cars per address, that would be over 1000 parking spaces that would be needed. This is not a shopping center.
