What to say about Idlewood... Well I am student and was ready to move off campus and get my first apartment. I had looked at dozens of properties and couldnt find anything I liked that was in my price range. I found Idlewood while looking at some other apartments that had been recommended in the area. Idlewood seemed like a dreamy oasis resort compared to some of the other apartments in the area. They have a lovely clubhouse; a nice enough pool area and the grounds seem to be clean and well kept. The apartments themselves are rather spacious (big kitchens with plenty of storage). The model they showed me was fantastic and within my price range. So signed that day without further question. Well, I have lived here for about 6 months and I have had my car broken into twice!!! CD players stolen along with various other items, never mind the damage to my car. I have never ever seen the security officer patrol in the area and the one time that he did respond to my calls he admitted that he "doesnt get to that side of the grounds very often". When we first moved in there was strange damage to the front door and lock, as though someone had tried to break in. And how did they fix the holes in the door' With caulk and paint! If you tour the grounds in the evening you'll see that more of the outdoor lighting is out than in proper working order. The light outside of my building was inoperable for the first 3 months that we were here! The carpets and such were supposed to be replaced before we moved in. We signed the lease more than a month before our move-in date and the carpet didnt get replaced for a week after the fact, which meant I couldnt do much unpacking before hand. And then when the carpet guy finally arrived he claimed that he didnt know that we had already moved in and wanted to reschedule for a later date! Well I raised a ruckus about that and it was done the same day. In the breezeways my lower neighbors are always leaving their trash outside of their door and it gets blown everywhere. There are huge stealthy looking wolf spiders everywhere you look on the stairwells. Oh and that great looking pool... they dont mention to you that its only 4 feet deep. Hows that for fun in the sun' So overall, I like the apartment itself, but I am constantly worried about the safety of my car and apartment.
