My wife and I rented at Island club in 2003. We had so many problems and hated the place so much we broke our lease 8 months in. Management was slow to respond to even the smallest complaint. At one point oour window facing the lake cracked from pressure during the middle of the winter. Cold air was entering the apartment and it took them 4 days to even come look at it.
The lake was nice, but I'd rather rent a nicer apartment and forgo the lake because its honestly all they have going for them.
We lived above the complex's "courtesty officer" and he was anything but nice to us. He took advantage of his job--he was rude and obnoxious to everyone, parked his car wherever he felt like (yes, even in OTHER people's carports when they weren't home!)
And who could forget the guy who lived next door to us who had the cops busting into his apartment nearly ever week because he dealt drugs...and then there was the couple in the apartment below us who would stand on the balcony and argue for hours at the top of their lungs...I could go on, but I'll leave it here.
Bottom line, keep looking and just pass this place right up. You'll be glad you did.
