If you are a professional, just pass this place up and keep shopping. However, if you are a ghetto bird or trailer trash then by all means, they would love to have you. I lived here for 2 years, and during this time (2001-2003) it turned from a place where young professionals like myself could put in a full day of work and come home to a quiet place on the lake to a place where some drug dealing ghetto bird who lives downstairs is yelling at his little brother "man, f*ck you n*****" and, no BS here, cooks fried food so nasty that I could smell the grease coming through my floor. It is a very helpless feeling to be in a situation that you cannot get away from. After a person puts in a full day of work the last thing they want to deal with is some loser neighbor who has nothing better to do than play music @ 150 decibals at 3:30 a.m. Then you bring it up to management and they refuse to help you. Most apartments are just a scam to bleed you out of your money, but this one takes the cake. This is the only place I ever lived where I felt like I had no rights. Management's attitude is basically "shut up, deal with the BS and don't bother us with your complaints. But make sure you get that rent check here on time". I would have loved to meet face to face with somebody from the management company. What a bunch of clueless, incompetent jackasses.

You said it! You are right on the money! I lived there from 2001-2005(the last 2 years were hellish beyond comprehension) and I experienced a similar situation.
I also moved in because I felt it was a nice place for professional people like myself. NOT! By 2003, I was dealing with people (and I use the term "people" loosely, some of these characters were sub-human, I'm sure of it)so ghetto they would fry up nasty food that would not only permeate my apt, they would throw open their door so you hear music that would burst Mick Jagger's eardrums, and so you could witness them lounging around drinking and cursing, talking so loud you could hear ALL their business.
Then there was the trailer trash downstairs, they ALWAYS put their garbage out in front of their apt.,FOR DAYS. It would be filled with foul smelling things(yes garbage is supposed to smell foul, but this smell was not of this earth) and 12,000 cases of Bud 12 packs(do you know what not completely empty beer cans smell like in the middle of summer? Left out for days? You don't want to know). Even when the occasional stray cat or dog wandered through, they would give their garbage a wide berth. Did I mention how they also left their smelly shoes outside the door too? Management never did a thing about it, and yes, I brought it to their attention.
What really blew me away was I was late ONE time paying my rent, in FOUR YEARS mind you, and they were not helpful AT ALL. Telling me I was going be charged all these attorney's fee's and yada, yada, yada. Now keep in mind this was the last time I was going to be paying rent there, I was moving at the end of the month. I wasn't trying to get out of paying the rent, why would I do that after faithfully paying on time for FOUR YEARS? But they wouldn't cut me any slack, thank God an unexpected check came in the mail and I was able to pay on time.
I am so glad I moved. I have a house now, thank God.
PEOPLE, DO NOT MOVE TO ISLAND CLUB UNLESS YOU ARE JUST SO DOWN ON YOUR LUCK YOU CAN'T DO ANY BETTER!!! YOU WILL BE UNHAPPY LIVING THERE!
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!!!
