This place has gone down hill, and fast! There is horrible noise from apartments above, you can hear every footstep, stomp, kids running and jumping, and neighbors getting it on. The landscape and bushes are half dead evergreens in most places and nobody takes care of them. Maintenence is terrible, everything Ive needed fixed or replaced was band-aid fixed. The carpet is cheap and doesnt even meet the walls, there is a gap between the floor and wall where the buildings are settling. There is also cracks forming in the celing from settling. The paint job is poor, you can see every crack and nail hole that has been repaired over time. The appliances are from the 70's. There is alot of riff-raff moving in, drug dealers and suspicious cars and people around, loud bass from cars in the middle of the night. Its so bad that the security officer moved out and quit. There is trash blowing all over the complex. Dont be late on your rent, $100 late fees for being 5 days late!!! But then again, they have to pay for the newly renovated club house and all the new furniture in it. Its all just a facade to cover up how run down these apartments have become. Dont judge a book by its cover, the lake view and the nice club house. This place is falling apart, fast. If you want to live in an over-priced ghetto, this is the place to live. I, however, am moving out!

Everything you said is true. I moved out in 2005. It appears I made it out in the nick of time!! It had gotten soooo ghetto by then, I was really starting to resent paying 710.00 a month to live in such a place. Only move into IC if you are desperate. There are better places I assure you. Take your time and do your research. No apt. complex is going to be perfect but believe me, you can do better than IC. Don't waste your money.

I tend to disagree with the review below. First off, the security officer who moved out didn't do so by choice. He actually worked for a local police department & got caught up in a drug deal he was supposed to be taking down! Therefore, his police department fired him & he also had to relinquish his apartment at the Islands (I'm an insider to this situation). I will say this, when I first moved in on January 2006 the landscaping was still being taken care of but it has gone downhill since then. We have a new manager which I do not like but eh, that's just my opinion. I have seen more kids move in then when I first started living here. But most kids are well behaved & aren't any different then what you would find in any neighboorhood. Apartment living isn't for everyone & if people are having problems with the noise of the neighboors or kids then it's probably high time they purchase a house. Apartment living is all about one thing: sharing. Sharing walls, space, roads. If you can't share then you will have a problem
