Appearances Can Be Deceiving

My first experience living in Indianapolis has been with Island Club. When I first started looking for apartments I was amazed that I found a community this nice (white cape cod type apartments on a lake at a low price ($525 a month for a 1 bed/1 bath))Boy was I fooled!!
You would expect an apartment complex with an outword appearance this nice to have tenants of a more professional middle to upper class background. WRONG! Instead you have a few normal, respectful people and the rest are ghetto trash that thump their stereos, let their kids run wild, and have no respect for others.
The apartments wear easily and fast. The stairs are an insurance claim waiting to happen and they have the wisdom of placing fountains by parking spaces and never turning them off resulting in pond scum covering your car during warm months and ice covering your vehicle in winter months.
Maintanence does not salt the walkways or roads as they should resulting in dangerous walking and driving. They also do not pick up the dog poop that owners refuse to pick up resulting in messy sidewalks.
Geese are a huge problem as well as they are messy and block traffic.
The crime rates has also risen due to the trash tenants they allow to live there. There is no longer a courtesey officer and the maintanence workers are slow to respond to lock outs or other emergencies.
All in all, this place looks great at a glance, but until you live here you will not know how bad it really is.

First of all, if you had actually listened to the emergency response message, it is stated that lock-outs are not to be reported there. Second, I have lived there for four years and have had no problems with neighbors or employees of the company. They have always been nice and friendly. They finally got rid of the maint. guy who wouldn't work and it took a while to find a new one. Just because you have a bad experience doesn't mean that the entire location is bad.

Wow, you're a trip. You must work in the front office or be part of the ghetto trash that lives there.

I have lived here for over 5 years and it is the best apartment complex you can find on the water. IF YOU DON'T LIKE WATERFOWL PLEASE DON'T MOVE HERE....LAKES ARE HOMES TO WATERFOWL and it amazes me when people get here and they hate the birds as if they can't figure out where they came from since they were here when the apartments are first viewed and will remain since lakes are where they nest...Duh?
