My third month...

Lets put it simple. You are paying only for the location and a new building. No matter how new, maintenance still needs to be done and it isn't. My toilet like the others clogs often, it's nothing I couldn't fix myself however with a apartment property you pay for things like this to be fixed. If you ever call the emergency number, you never get a response. My smoke alarm that is some odd 15ft in the air wouldnt shut off one night. No one would call me back from the emergency pager number so I took it upon myself at 3am to find a ladder around the building. I informed management who honestly acted like they didnt care and it seemed like I had to ask for an apology. Another problem is package delivery, the building is locked, the call box never works and can not call cell phone numbers (you must have a land line). I have lived downtown in 3 major cities, call boxes generally have a outbound number where you can buzz in your friends or the delivery man. Not here, you ask management about it and they act like that's the way it is and they're not going to fix it. Who has a land line in 2006 anyway' Or what about VOIP/internet phones' They're all much more economical. Another odd thing, you must drive a couple miles to drop off your rent. They used to do a drop box, but stopped. I think I could go on for hours about this place. I've never been unhappy and have rented for 7 years. Like has anyone EVER cleaned the common ways, or swept the carpt in the elevator sometimes it gets pretty fool.
