I was reading the reviews on here and while I agree with most of them, before the new management took over, I totally disagree with all of it now. Since the new management company took over, my experience at Janus has been nothing but great. Actually the owners of the building have taken over management after all the complaints by residents and have done a great job since doing so. The new young guy that started working there is always easy to get a hold of and when he doesn't answer he always returns your calls or e-mails within a couple hours at the very latest, even in the late evenings and weekends. He has gone out of his way numerous times to accomodate me as well as my roommate and I can't say enough about him. While I agree with some of the complaint about cheap appliances that is only true with the toilets, they do have problems from time to time clogging but maintanence has always come out in a very timely manner to fix any problems we may have. While the toilets are cheap I have lived in two different buildings downtown and they are all like that no matter where you live down here, and apartments in general, it just comes with the territory. The noise really isn't that much of a problem, although I do know that some units are worse than others with noise but ours has no problem. In June I couldn't wait for my lease to end so I could get out of the building but since the new management has took over around that time, I have had no complaints and ended up renewing my lease for another year this September. If you are looking for a great building to live in downtown I highly recomend Janus Lofts.
