Security guards, fenced in community, and a courtesy patrol are all a poor attempt at providing security in this community. Allow me to tell you my story.

My fiance and I moved in for a 12 month lease June of 2005. We were excited at first because of the low rent we were paying for a seemingly nice apartment. Our first 5 months went with few complaints except for maintenance issues that took over a week to get fixed.

However, looking past the maintenance issues we decided to refer some friends over to the community. We figured it was a nice place for them to live because of the low rent.

Unfortunately, about a week later, our apartment was ROBBED. The burglar, or burglars, broke in through the fireman's entrance in the ceiling of the top floor hallway. If you decide to move in here, make sure you request to have the hole plastered over or request a 1st floor apartment.

About 2 months after this incident occurred, we had recieved a letter from management letting us know that a woman had been assaulted by approximately 5 males that forced their way into her apartment.

As if that weren't enough, just this week, on
4/19/2006, there six gunshots fired in front of our apartment.
Your property is not safe either.
Our nieghbor's car got hit by one of those bullets, causing quite a bit of damage. Just a month before his car was damaged by the bullet, it was smashed into by another car speeding around one of the corners in the community. He had only had his car back for a week when it was shot.

To make my point short and sweet, this community is going to the dumps. When the police officers that were at the scene of the shooting tell you that management is not doing enough to clean up the community, you know it is getting bad. The only thing management does is a credit check. You could be a convicted felon just out on parole looking for a cheap place to live. If you had the right credit score, Lake Castleton would welcome you with open arms. Live here at your own risk, and be sure to get renters insurance!
