Lake Castleton Apartments are a hazard to health and safety. Maintenance does not quickly response to maintenance problems, unless they are an emergency. They do not replace drywall that has been damaged by leaking water either. When there was significant leaking from pipes upstairs, maintenance left our drywall to dry, and then after one week painted over it! Talk about added mold to the picture. If you have ANY allergies or conditions like asthma or allergies that contribute to breathing problems, DO NOT LIVE HERE! You will not be able to breathe.

I routinely get messages on my door about the latest break-ins, assaults, arrests, etc. I've seen police in the complex at least twice every week. The man accross the hall plays his music so loud that he can't hear the door when I knock to ask him to turn in down. I can't even hear my own t.v. over the noise! And security will not intervene until after 10 p.m. I've seen many suspicious people walking around, and a few have watched me. My roommate and I are in our early twenties and terrified. We've resorted to learning self-defense and buying mase that we carry around with us. We do NOT feel safe here.

Management will not let you out of a lease, even if you have medical problems. The people in the office are nice, but they don't get done what needs to get done.

I would certainly NOT recommend living here.

To get the drywall and mold fixed you might want to call the Marion county Health Department and mention this to them. If that doesn't work call the mayors help line. One of those two groups should be able to help.
