It seems fabulous at first, because it's so cheap for the Castleton area. But don't forget you get what you pay for... I have lived here for about a year and a half now, and I do NOT feel safe being in my apartment alone. Since we have moved here - there has been a knife fight across the street, someone has thrown a brick through my neighbor's window, someone has slashed a tire on every single car across the street in a single night, someone has tried to steal our laundry in the laundry facility right in front of us, several cars with bashed in windows have sat untouched for weeks, the list goes on... When I've called the office to inquire about these crimes they are vague and say they don't know anything about it. (My favorite was when I called the office about my neighbor's getting a brick thrown through their window... they told me they didn't know anything about it even though I was watching maintenance fix the window while I was on the phone with them) Our ceiling was leaking water once and when maintenance came they said it was just because the wind was blowing too hard the night before while it was raining (somehow the water got blown through the brick building I guess...' Riiiiight) Our bedroom window won't open. Maintenance came and said nothing was wrong with it. It still does not open. Our apartment consistently smells of cigarette smoke and maurijuna - neither of us smoke anything. It took several calls to get our air conditioner fixed when it was over 80 degrees outside - they finally fixed it when I told them I have horrible allergies and needed it fixed pronto for medical reasons. Parking is horrible - we've had to park an entire building down from our own because there aren't spots outside our own apartment. I used to walk my dog a lot around the lake... until I started finding dead animals and bones along the sidewalk (mostly ducks). We definitely will not be renewing our lease when it ends....
