I have lived at Lake Castelton for two years this month and have rarely had an issue. Is it the most luxurious or "safest" complex in the Indy area' Of course not. But it is reasonably priced and I have never felt unsafe. (I'm a single mother by the way and live alone with my son). My ten year old son has several friends in the complex and I often let him play outside with them or ride his bike to one's apartment. I take the same precautions as I would living in a neighborhood (know and check in with the parents...stay involved and communicate!) but I have no more concerns than I would in a neighborhood either.

GROUNDS - well maintained and very nice. I've found the complex to be very friendly for walkers/runners.

POOLS - We use regularly during the summer and the only reason I've ever hesitated to get in was when the water was frigid. Not much can be done about that in this climate. Keep in mind, this is a large complex so you're not going to find pristine pools like you would if you owned a private one but gross or disgusting' Never that I've seen.

LAUNDRY ROOMS -- They're laundry rooms. Only time I've ever seen one messy was about thirty minutes before closing. They're much better than going to a laundromat.

FITNESS CENTER -- bit of a disappointment. The little bit of equipment there is not in good shape. I just joined a gym in the area and have some equipment at home.

OFFICE STAFF -- is great. They know me by name and are friendly whenever I stop by for a package. I love that they'll take packages instead of UPS trying to redeliver over and over. They've always been polite, friendly and helpful to me.

NOISE LEVEL -- never had a problem. I have great neighbors though.

It's a large, diverse complex. Don't wish for a condo in Carmel and complain about this. This is our community so take some responsibility. Get to know your neighbors, be polite to the staff and enjoy the benefits.
