Incompetent Management & Lousy Maintenance

I moved in here under Amli management and things ran like a Swiss clock. They were thorough and conscientious and polite and easy to deal with. When they were bought by NTS a lot went down hill. The grounds were no longer taken care of the same way. The common areas in my building were dirty and not kept up. The carpet on my floor was soiled and filthy from a neighbor with a loud yelpy dog. So, what did they do about it' They replaced the carpet not on my floor, but on the stairwell - and they replaced it with a different color carpet. Under Amli management, these things never happened.
The first summer that NTS took over, my air conditioner continually froze up and stopped working. I called and had them check it out half a dozen times all summer long with no resolution. The following spring the cycle started all over again until finally a different maintenance person discovered that the air conditioner belt had been broken all along. My electric bill was outrageous for months because of this and when I complained the maintenance manager replied, "Sometimes these things happen"!
The worst problem occured when I asked the office to please change the security code to my building because a couple of people had it that were no longer welcome in my apartment. One of them was harassing me and coming into my building, but when I told management, they still refused to change the code and told me to call the police if I was having a problem! I was surprised because under former management they changed the code twice a year. I lived there after NTS took over for two years and they never once changed the code.
Finally after several weeks of asking, instead of changing the code, they gave me an additional one. So, since the old code was still in effect, it defeated the purpose. When I pointed this out, nobody apologized and they continued to refuse to change the security code. In fact, the whole situation got so out of control that I eventually had to move out before my lease was even up.
I expected more for the $750 check I wrote out to them every month. The manager is a total airhead right out of a SNL Tri-Delt skit. When I had an issue, she just stared blankly at me and asked, "So, what should I do'". Not to sound melodramatic, but their incompetence and refusal to help me stay secure in my own building literally turned my life upside down for the better part of a year. It was a total nightmare.
If you rent from these people, you'll regret it. The place is a total joke.

I couldn't agree more with this review. I lived there for a year and maintenance sucked and the office staff was always out of the loop as to what was going on. Ridiculous for the salty rent they charge.
