I agree with all of the bad reviews that Lake Piedmont has received. The water was shut off at once least every few months. They have area mailboxes with like 50 all together, but ours was on the complete other side of the property as our apartment. There was also a laundry room on site, which had no windows, no air conditioning, no ventilation and then was shortly boarded up. There once was a HUGE car fire right next to other cars. Our shower was almost dangerous. It'd be fine and dandy and then WHAM! scalding water would shoot out without rhyme or reason. Oh and can't forget the lovely clearing of the parking lot during winter. Cars were constantly getting stuck because when they would finally clear some of the snow, they'd just pack it in behind cars instead of asking people to move. Also, I once had to SCALE THE WALL to make it to from my apartment to my car. They wouldn't clear anything on the grounds but a strip here and there, and even then you couldn't see the pavement. When the snow would begin to melt, there were grooves in it from all the traffic from lack of sidewalk usage. Well then, it rained, making all of the snow, ice, groovy (and not in a good way) ground slippery and you couldn't get footing at ALL, thus the scaling of the walls. And yes, someone was murdered while we lived there, but I didn't hear too much about it. One more thing, the staff acts like they are too busy and bothered to want to deal with you, even if you're only picking up a package Fedex left there.
Stay away.. keep looking. Somewhere else is surely better.
I will say one thing in their defense. The maintenance was good. They never hesitated long to come over and fix things. We also received our deposit in full promptly after we vacated.
