With in three weeks, I personally reported a peeping-tom and a breakin. Do not agree to live in a one bedroom in the back near the woods no matter now much the staff tries to sell it as a peaceful view. It can not be seen from the road, so a lot of crime can happen back there.

After reporting these cases, the police were slow to react and unconcerned, and the management staff did not take the matters seriously. Instead of letting me leave due to safety reasons, they encouraged me to sign another 5 month lease in their complex.

Just second guess your reasons for moving into Lakeshore Apartments, especially if you are a single female. I am getting out as soon as possible.

Crime can happen anywhere any time of course. I've lived at Lakeshore for 5 years in a similiar setting as you described with never a single issue. Maybe a current or former boyfriend or something? My experiences with management have been very good. I receive a lot of packages so I see them often. Bummer for you, but I would say unusual here.

I completely sympathize with you. I too lived in the back of Lakeshore Apartments from November 2005-April 2007 and also had a peeping tom. I regret living there as long as I did. I was terrified after that incident and still live in fear although I have relocated to a different city entirely. In hindsight, it was a terrible choice of an apartment for me at Lakeshore - the absolute worst set up for a single female! It faced the woods and anything could have happened back there. I heard a loud bang on my sliding door one night and looked out to see a peeping tom with his face up against the glass trying to peer through the vertical blinds as hard as he could. I called 911...the cops came, but he had gotten away. Another girl I spoke to weeks earlier who lived there warned me of this peeping tom and she said that he had climbed up on her 2nd floor balcony and looked at her. (Luckily, she lived with her boyfriend and he threatened to kick the guy's ass...but that didn't stop the peeping tom from looking through other girls' windows). I would never EVER move back there or recommend it to a friend. It's a very unsafe apartment complex. By the way, to make matters worse, I leased a carport from them as well. Bad idea! They gave me a carport that was a good 3-4 minute walk from my apartment. Seriously....what.the.****!?
