I have lived at Lakeshore Apartments for almost a year and a half. This is a fantastic place to live.
My apartment was always quiet, and it was almost like I didn't have neighbors. Great for students and anyone that doesn't want to hear stereos or TVs at 3 in the morning.
The insulation is top-notch. The building is a little older, but I think they used more high-quality materials than they do in newer buildings. My previous apartment was in a newer building where my air conditioner/heater would just run and run. I really only needed to run my air conditioner during July and August at Lakeshore. The place stayed naturally cool. During the winter, the place stayed nice and toasy. This will save you money on electricity.
The leasing staff members are friendly and helpful. I only had one or two maintenance issues while here, and they were repaired quickly.
The shower pressure is PHENOMENAL. I am one of those people that LOVES a powerful shower head (think that episode of Seinfeld where Kramer buys the shower head used to hose down elephants in the circus!).
Lakeshore technically "bans" gas grills on balconies. They will not report you to the fire marshal. If the fire marshal drives by, you can be fined. I grilled year-round and never had any problems. A car with a flame on the outside even drove by one time, but I never got cited.
For anyone that complains about the crime, WELCOME TO APARTMENT LIVING. Lock your car doors and don't leave valuables in your car. Lock your sliding glass door and apartment door every time you leave. I was never burglarized and never saw any suspicious individuals around the complex. Common sense goes a long way.
Lakeshore has two bitchin' pools, and there are a lot of college kids in them every weekend.
'In-unit washer/dryer' are some of the best words in the english language. My new place in Cleveland doesn't have this and almost no apartments in Cleveland offer in-unit washer/dryer. The washer/dryer is enormous too. I could wash two sets of sheets in one load!
If I was forced to list things I didn't like about the complex, I would really only have three grievances. 1) The toilets are a little old. I had to buy one of those toilet freshener drop-ins. 2) Parking can get a bit crowded when people come home from work. Covered parking (not garages) are only like $15 a month though. 3) When we had a big snow storm, the complex wasn't cleared for driving to work. I was late one day, but the maintenance guys were nice enough to help me push my car out of the complex.
I really wish I could stay at this complex. I would definitely recommend this place.

You dont live above the girl above me. Sounds like an elephant running across the floor. I am waiting for her to fall through. In the 3 years I have live here that has been my 1st problem. If Lakeshore can not find me another unit in March, I will have to leave b/c I can not take it no more!!
