One of the office employees who is, apparently, no longer employed at Lake Nora Arms, took it upon herself to have my car towed from a carport that she allowed me to use. In front of two other employees, she agreed to let me park my car in a carport that was unused. My husband offered to pay the monthly rent for it. She said, "Oh, no, it's okay! Take your time. Take as long as you need!"
When I turned in the 30 days' notice, the employee started making catty remarks about my new landlady and how rude she seemed on the phone. Basically, she was calling my new landlady stupid. One of the other employees also made a snide remark about the area of town to which I was moving.
Two days later, my car was towed without my knowledge. I firmly believe this was retaliatory, based upon her behaviour when I turned in my notice.
I was never notified and it has now been three weeks since she had the car towed. I only found out about it YESTERDAY, March 13th, 20003. I am supposed to pay $400 to get it out of the lot. Only problem is, I don't have the $400. Why isn't she being forced to pay for this'
Legally, I shouldn't be held responsible for this, but I'm sure Lake Nora Arms apartments will drag its feet just like it does about EVERYTHING and I will probably have my car sold out from under me by Billy Bob at Pro-tow or whatever it's called.
