Lakeside Pointe at Nora is RANK! A MUST READ BEFORE SIGNING AT LAKESIDE POINTE!

PLEASE DO NOT SIGN A LEASE WITH LAKESIDE POINTE AT NORA! THERE ARE OTHER PLACES IN THIS CITY OF THE SAME PRICE THAT ARE ACTUALLY DECENT AND LIVEABLE (Check out Villa Paree at 62nd and Allisonville Rd. for example). THIS PLACE IS TERRIBLY MISREPRESENTED IN MY OPINION AND THE OFFICE STAFF IS VERY PUSHY AND SALESY. I GUESS THEY HAVE TO BE TO BE ABLE TO RENT ANYTHING HERE. IT SEEMS THEY TRY TO TRICK PEOPLE INTO RENTING. I SPOKE WITH SOMEONE ELSE WHO'S FRIEND, LIKE MYSELF, WAS PICKING A PLACE OUT ONLINE AND WAS TOLD BY THE STAFF THIS WAS A NICE PLACE AND SIGNED ONLY TO FIND OUT IT'S A DUMP.

I've been looking around online and in the apartment guide for a place in Indianapolis. I found Lakeside Pointe at Nora and since it's in a decent part of town (86&College) and the price (400-600) is comparable to others in the city that are decent, I thought a studio here would be just the ticket for an affordable place to live. HAHAHA!

The apartment staff kept pushing me with their current "promotion" that I think is really going on all the time. They told me I had to sign by a certain time and then when I couldn't make it thru snow and ice told me I'd have to re-apply. The leasing agent told me "yes, it's actually a pretty nice apartment"... Upon his description and the pictures online and in the apartmentguide I thought, "Ok, it's a little older, not real nice, but decent and comfortable."

OH. MY. GOODNESS. My sister and I pulled into the complex and saw such disrepair that was comparable to the unfortunately terrible housing located around the downtown area by 38th - 20th streets where stuff is just falling apart and broken.

The outer brick wall of one building was CRACKED down the side and looked like the wall was going to come down. The roof on another was buckled, caved, and coming apart. The grounds looked dirty and not taken care of. All of the windows looked scuzzy, old, not safe, dirty, and rickety. The inner hallways were stinky and dirty. The balconies are long on the floorplan but in reality they're much shorter.. UNTIL YOU WALK OVER TO YOUR NEIGHBOR'S SIDE THAT YOU HAVE TO SHARE WITH!

I didn't even view a unit as I intended. We just sat in the parking lot and LAUGHED and wondered to think that I would rent a place there. I didn't even want to see how crudy the inside must be. AND THE MANAGER HAD EVEN TRIED TO PUSH ME INTO SIGNING A LEASE VIA FAX!!! Can you imagine''

I saw some other apartments that day that were older and obviously dated, but they were taken care of! The company painted, kept the windows and building decent, and took care of the place.

PLEASE DO NOT BELIEVE WHAT YOU SEE OR HEAR FROM THE APARTMENT STAFF OR WHAT THEY ADVERTISE IN THE GUIDES OR ONLINE. You know, I probably wouldn't have written this review if the staff hadn't been so pushy and tried to rush me into a lease (I think because they're deperate to lease and seemingly try to fool people into it). IF the representation in the guides had been honest, I wouldn't have stopped by. My time was wasted and I was shocked at the idea that they would try to shove me into a lease at such a dump instead of waiting until I'd actually seen the place. Lesson learned!
