EW YUCK I WOULD NEVER REFER ANYONE TO LIVE AT LAKEHOOD!!!
From: -Anonymous-Date posted: 3/8/2005
Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2004
I personally never lived here, but my boyfriend and his roomate lived there for one year. They chose "Lakehood" because of its price and proximity to Broad Ripple.
The apartment was dirty when they moved in and the carpet had been cleaned about 30 min. before they got their keys to move-in, there were still stains and a few stains came back after the carpet dried. During the year that they lived there they finally gave up on calling in their service requests because they were never actually repaired and when they called them into the rental office they were treated like they had done something wrong by pointing out a problem.
The had a persistent BUG PROBLEM that PLAUGED their apartment for the course of their full year, and thankfully the gas heat was paid because the windows were so drafty in my boyfriends room that the blinds would move in the breeze when the windows were CLOSED!
The maintenance issues and the bugs were one thing, but the thing that finally made me tell the man that I loved that I would no longer come to see him at his home and that he would need to come over to my place if he wanted to see me was when my car got all scratched up when there were about 4 children jumping on the hood and roof of my car while their parents were watching and laughing while they were out drinking 40's and playing cards on a table that they had put out in the middle of the parking lot. Bear in mind that I had been propositioned by numerous members of his street as i would get out of my car and finally made him meet me in the parking lot when I would get there.
I am not a whiny wussie, I do however feel that somethings should not have to be tolerated.
When he applied to move into my apartent community they told my office that he didn't even live there, when he went to the office and asked about it he was told that whoever did it must not have pulled the file to verify his information and just filled it out.
When he gave his notice they tried to make him give 2X the notice that was required in his lease and when he fought it they said they were sorry, but that was what their management company was making them do.
After he moved out they sent his move-out settlement letter to an incorrect address, and by the time that he FINALLY recieved the letter that told him that he owed $12.00 for a water bill the company had sent him to collections. When he called the office they basically told him it wasn't their fault that it went to the worng address (even though it was CLEARLY mis-addressed - clear by all the notations from the post office.)
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DON'T MOVE HERE!!!
