My husband and I have lived at Lakewood since last year. Renewing our lease was one of the worse things we could have done. If you are thinking that the rent is cheap and you dont have to pay gas think again. In this case you get what you pay for. Rent is cheap ( if you get a deal) because this place hasnt been updated ince the 70's. Our furnice is older than me and Im 25. You dont pay gas but the windows are so drafty and the insulation is so poor you make up for it in the summer. Our IPL bill jumps from 30 a month to over 100$ a month for a one bedroom! When I call to get the furnice filter replaced I get crap from the staff asking me how I know it needs to be replaced. It takes forever to get survice. Our garbage disposall was constantly cloging and they kept "fixing" it so we stoped using it. It has never worked. The dishwasher leaves residue on our dishes no matter what we do to clean it out and the bath tub clogs all the time.( the office wouldnt send over some draino)

We have had to call the sheriff dept on our neighbor several times for domestic disputes and when ever there is a party at the office it always get out of hand and spills into the streets. People let their kids run arround with no supervision and set off fire crackers late at night. People honk their horns to get someone out of their appartment ..this could go on for several min and often at night.

one of the main reasons we moved here was becasue of the pool, tennis courts, and work out room. All are a joke. The lifeguard is totally useless and is in all actually a hazard herself. the pool is not properlly maintained and a week before it was supposed to close they had given up cleaning it and my husband got fairly sick from accidentally swallowing the water. The tennis court has no net( becasue the klids would sit on it and broke it) and there is now a basketball goal set up so you cant even play tennis if you wanted to. The worst is the weight room. The equipment wouldnt be accepted by Goodwill it is in such poor condition. Nothing works( the step machines and bike) or it is all duct taped( weight machine).

There have been recent instances where we had to find out by the news that there was raw sewage leaking from some buildings and when asked the office staff didnt know if they were going to let anyone know about it. WE also had our water turned off because of a burst pipe.We had to call the office and all we got was a very short answer of we dont know when its going to be fixed.

please please please dont be decisved of the cheap price when you come here. YOu end up paying so much more than its worth.

Just to let everyone know we pay our rent on time every month. We pay our bills on time and we keep our appartment clean.
