I have lived in this apartment for four years now.

In the beginning this place was not so bad--a fair price for a mediocre apartment in an okay setting.

Since I moved in the complex has been sold about 3-4 times.

The previous company (before the one that owns it now) wasn't so bad, I felt like maintenance was coming out somewhat reasonably, the potholes got filled immediately, etc.

This new company is HORRIBLE.

Potholes (that were about calf-deep, numerous ones, all over the streets in the neighborhood) went unfilled for about 4 months--I have now had to spend almost $400 replacing tires, not counting the money spent repairing tires repeatedly.

Maintenance has been called about every other day all summer long regarding the fact that our AC doesn't cool below 85 degrees, and each time we've been told they'll get to us when they can, but we're lucky because some people had 95 degree apartments.

Oh, and its almost October and they haven't gotten to us yet.

Our friend in another building has horrible mold growing all over his bathroom due to water leaks and they have done nothing except replace the hot water knob, which did nothing to fix the problem.

About a month ago our downstairs neighbor let us know that he had hours before caught a maintenance man in his apartment with no work order, rummaging through his belongings, and that another resident had also caught the guy in her apt that day.

We have had the cops called out to our building numerous times because the apartment next to us seems to be cursed--no matter who moves in, they always end up screaming and physically fighting all night to the morning, sometimes in their apt, sometimes in the hall, sometimes throwing objects through windows and breaking them.

Christmas morning two years ago we returned from our family gatherings to find our apt had almost been robbed--the door had crowbar chip marks, and the peephole had been unscrewed so they could see inside.

We were told they would plate the door to prevent that from happening, but the work order got lost.

A broken light in the hallway has gone 2 years unfixed because the work order was lost.

Last October when we resigned our lease we asked that our carpet get replaced...they "inspected" it, told us it was fine (it had been stained & smelly & old when we moved in) and then two weeks later someone complained about the garbage smell in our hall (it happens when you leave your garbage in the hall) and we were told we had to spend our own money cleaning the carpets (which they were supposed to clean, its in the lease! once a year!) or face eviction, because our carpets were causing the hallway to smell like rotten vegetables and dirty diapers (we were some of the people complaining about the smell!).

We've reached a point where they won't fix anything in our apartment (we have to do it ourselves), the people hired to fix things are too busy stealing things to do their jobs, we've blown too many tires, AND to top it all off, we can't say "well, we may live in a crappy apartment, but at least we're only paying for a crappy apartment" because the new management has decided to jack prices up because the rate we are paying is lower than their employee discount rate.

We've had slight price increases every year, but now we'd be paying what it would cost to live in the same size, BETTER apartment in hamilton county as it is to live in this dump.

So in one month, PEACE OUT!

The rent you listed is a lot cheaper than what is listed in Apartment Guides for Lakewood Lodge - were they running a special? I'm thinking of moving there in Spring and I'm trying to get an idea of how much I should budget. Thanks! :)

it was a special, i think my apt would cost $615/mo w/o the special. i think they usually have move-in incentives of some sort, though.
