Do not move into Latitudes!

Years at this apartment: 2005-01-01 - 2007-01-01
My husband and I moved into Latitudes Apartments in May of 2005. We chose the apartments because we were able to get a garage and were told that it would be very close to our apartment. Upon move-in we saw that the garage was not close at all, but it was within walking distance. After a week of living in the apartment, I still did not have my garage door opener so I went to the leasing office. There they discovered that they had made a mistake and the tenant above me had the same last name and it was his garage, NOT MINE. At this point my lease was already signed and there was nothing I could do.
During our 2 years of living there we had many issues. There are only 2 dumpsters for the apartment complex and they are constantly overflowing. The leasing staff changes every other week, so they never know you and don't know your history there. The charges for satellite and cable are way too high! And the satellite goes out all of the time, rain or shine. The parking right ourside of our apartment flooded everytime it rained, and was not fixed in the two years we lived there. They do not do anything about 7 people living in a 2 bedroom apartment causing much disruption to all apartments around them. They also do not tell you when you receive packages- and they are delivered to the office. I had packages that sat there for weeks and was never told about them.
My other major issues with Latitudes happened once we decided to move out. My husband and I bought a house and informed the leasing staff that we would not be renewing our lease- we informed them immediately after we closed on the house. We gave them 45 days notice. They told me that I should have received a notice telling me that I need to give them 60 days notice that I would not be renewing (which we did not receive). This would have been impossible- unless I wanted to risk not having a place to live. We ended up having to pay an extra 17 days on the apartment which was over $600.
We have since been out the apartments for 3 months- and JUST received a bill from them that they want us to pay over $400 in damages! 3 of the 4 charges are bogus and extremely high.
I would NEVER recommend that anyone move into Latitudes Apartments or any Edward Rose property. They have the worst customer service and do not care about people or have any sort of morals.
