My roommate and I have lived here for 8 months (mind you, we're both girls, working our way through college). We both work a lot and go to school full time, so we don't have a lot of time at home.
When we first moved in, we had a few things that were damaged in our apartment, from the previous tenants. We were told that those damages would be fixed within the month... they were never fixed and still aren't. We have called, counted 8 times, for those same issues. SPIDERS!!! Big ones are everywhere in everyone's apts. The office will never call you back either, because they keep getting fired every week and the voicemails are deleted from accounts. No Organization at all here! Don't plan on walking in the grass! Please walk their dogs and they S**T everywhere and it's no cleaned up.
The landscapers are a nightmare. My roommate and I came home from work and our sunroom inside the back door was flooded. Our rugs were ruined, because the man spraying the sidings of the building lost aim, I guess.
Another thing, one night we came home from the bar around 4am and noticed that the front window screen, being my roommate's room, was lying on the ground and her window was opened. We called the office, and told them and they said that it was an inside job. Yet, we were both together. They said that they would fix it, but it took 4 months for them to even pick up the screen out of the lawn, more less replace the screen.
A week after the window issue, we were having things coming up missing. First, it was my roommates small items, then expensive things turn up missing, such as my digital camera, my roommates digital camera, $100 of mine, $50 of my roommates, and other things. We again, called the office and again they said that it was an inside job, and there is nothing that they can do. We know that maintainance has keys to all the apts. because they have left notes staying that they had come in and sprayed for ants or something, and we mentioned them and they said, "The maintainance has been here for a long time and they are trustworthy." Bull.
Another time, I went out of town to St. Louis and my roommate was left here alone, and she came home from work and all the cabinants in the apt were opened and stuff was everywhere. She called the office and again they said it was an inside job, eventhough I was in St. Louis. My roommate had called the police and the police officer said that there are a lot of calls about things just coming up missing at Latitudes. My roommate called the owner of Latitudes four times and left messages and there was never a called returned!!
The crazy thing is that my roommate and I replaced the doorknobs with one's we bought with a lock and a key. We keep all valuables in our rooms. Guess what' Nothing has come up missing since. Ironic, huh'
We move out in 3 months, and we are scared to stay here alone. We never leave each other here now. Isn't that sad' I just hate that the office doesn't care. And the bad thing is, there is nothing we can do. We are two girls about to graduate from college, but we are worrying about our safety, while we have to pay out the a** to live here. Girls, don't believe the security lies, go somewhere safe. Guys, the ------- in the office are liars and they get fired every week. Everyone: Don't move here!!!!

Amen! The reason you have such trouble with the maintenance is because the manager of the department is a sexist a**hole. In my post, you'll see that he yelled at me to "shut-up and listen to him" when I was there making a complaint. The person I was making a complaint against was a man. These truly are HORRIBLE apartments to live in. Don't be deceived by the attractive people working in the office...they won't be there next week. Don't be deceived by the nice buildings and layouts...you will end up paying for it. And women, they will take advantage of you more than they do the men. I have had several friends move out of these apartments (and others owned by Edward Rose) and it is the same everywhere. The management company sucks and therefore, all their properties do as well.

You're right about the manager being an a**hole. He only seems to do that to women, though. He's very unfair and likes to make up policies, as well. Don't believe him!! VERY unprofessional!! Spiders are an issue for me, as well. I'm looking to move to another community soon, but not Edward Rose. I agree that the woman in the office is very nice and fair. I don't want to mention her name on the internet, but it starts with ---- Not sure about the maintenance...I fix things in my apartment myself so they will be done right.

I'm so sorry you've all had such horrible experiences there. I think what you've had to endure is worse than my problem with the mice....they were scary, but at least I didn't have to worry have real physical and possessions safety, only holes in stuff, filth and some food eaten. Sounds like the staff is all new and unreliable, with the exception of the woman (her name escapes at the moment) who is the office manager and a long time employee. I think she's a real stand up gal and is to be trusted - frankly, the only one there apparently. In all my dealings with her, she's been forthcoming and honest. She doesn't put her company down, but she honestly cares about people. Good luck. The former mouse farm tenant.

We had so many dealings with the complex manager (Brian) that we had his personal cell phone and email address.. not sure if it's the same guy that you're talking about. I'm a woman, and I think I scared the ---- out of him because I kept emailing him, I emailed Edward Rose corporate and told them he was an inadequate moron, and I bitched him out on the phone because he was hiring idiots and was lying through his teeth to us. Never once after all the crap we went through did they offer us ANYTHING (free rent, internet, an APOLOGY). Brian no longer works there, so at least rest assured he's off ------- people over somewhere else!

WOW...I totally agree with everyone...I have been living at Latitudes for 2years now...and I hate every single moron, blonde ----- in that office. They are all worthless. I have had multiple issues with Brian the old manager, I cant even describe what an ass he was to me, and all the ---- I have had to deal with from the office. No one in that damn office knows what is going on, and the biggest issue I recently has, was that I was in a 2bdrm, 2b apt and downgraded to a 1brdm 1b, in the new section they just built and I was suppose to move into in May 2009. Well so in Feb. 2009 I paid with a check a transfer fee and got my address to my new apt all set up...well come time to move into my apt when the building was finished...GUESS WHAT...the STUPID FAT BLONDE MANAGER- forgot that I had put money down and assigned to me, and gaveit away to another tenant!!! WOW... I came unglued...I HATE LATITUDES!!!NEVER STAY THERE!!!
