enjoying my stay

Years at this apartment: 2008 - 2008
I moved into a 2 bedroom 2 bath apt in July 2008 and so far I have thoroughly enjoyed living here. I love the layout of my apt. The kitchen is well equipped with nice appliances. It's quite roomy and well insulated. It has a balcony that I think is rather large for an apt.
Before moving in, I read all the reviews and visited the complex to see the apts. I took my time and even came back later and just walked the complex. I stopped a young lady and asked her how she liked living here and if she had any problems. I was told that she absolutely loved living here. She very sweetly and patiently answered all my questions. Since moving here, I have found all she told me to be true. I have also found that all the neighbors I have met so far, like her, are extremely friendly and thankfully, tolerant of my deep southern accent.
Is everything perfect here' No, and I'd be a fool to try to make anyone believe otherwise. I live on the West side of the complex, facing the pool. The parking is well lit. I only have only one vehicle and have an assigned covered parking spot. Visitors sometimes have a problem finding a parking place later in the evenings when everyone is home. The east side of the complex seems to have an abundance of parking compared to the west side of the complex.
The landscaping is very nice and well kept. The trees are beautiful.
As far as Maintenance is concerned, they are great! Everything I have asked has been acknowledged and taken care of within a reasonable amount of time. Most people want things done immediately. Sometimes this is not possible, I know this. They take the work orders by priority. I try not to make any issues be priority unless it truly is. For example, my A/C was dripping water from the intake vent. I knew it wasn't an emergency, but did not know how extensive the water damage could be to the Sheetrock ceiling. I notified Neal (a very nice, well-mannered guy) and it was immediately taken care of.
The management staff is also wonderful. I find them to be very nice, respectful and even fun to talk to. They have been extremely helpful, getting me acclimated to the area. I sometimes just stop by to say hi, hold a short conversation (cause they are working) and leave. I have found everywhere I go, that if you give respect, you get respect.
I pay a total of $760.69 monthly for a 2/2 apt. This includes water. Although this is a little higher than I would like to pay, I knew the amount they were asking for the apt prior to my signing the lease, therefore, I have no reason to whine about the cost of the rent. I had the choice to find a cheaper apt, but I liked the location, as it was near work and the overall appearance of the complex. I made the decision and I'm glad I did.
I feel this is a great place for young single/couples or mid to near seniors.
So...My overall assessment is that this is a great place to live. Don't sweat the small stuff, have a little patience, show some respect, meet your neighbors and try to be a good neighbor yourself. Follow these simple suggestions and you will enjoy your stay here as much as I.
