I was so excited about moving into this building. Yes, it has a beautiful lobby and pool, and amenities in the building, and overall, we enjoyed our time there, but certain things started to get to us after a while. Here is my list:
1.....Parking is absolutely horrible! We hardly ever had a parking spot on weekends due to the events going on in the building. There were a nummmber of times that we came out to find our car smashed into, keyed, and things stolen. We talked to the front desk about it, but they could never do anythng about it. You would think for how much you pay to live there, you could get your own parking spot.On the weekends, i would have to park way back in the ivy tech parking lot..and i LIVED THERE!! There were so many times i saw drunk individuals walk out of a wedding being held there, get in their car, and pray that he didnt hit my car. I know for a fact that was happening...lack of security...Horrrrrible parking!
2. Every weekend there was something going on in the lobby/coutryard area. The entire lobby reaked of booze when i would walk into the building to get on the eleavtor. Once, my husband went downstairs to check the mailbox in his pj's and a snobby lady from a wedding reception told him he was " rude for interrupting their beautiful day"...UMM LADY WE FREAKING PAY TO LIVE HERE!!!! That was when we decided we were moving. This also caused for many noisy nights of drunken individuals wandering around outside....yuck.
3....SIZE...the apartments are so small...and overpriced for being so small. Where we live now, we have double the square footage AND garrage parking and are only paying 100 dollars more a month!
4...The apartments are soo drafty and cold! Our IPL bill in the winter months was 250 bucks! That is insane and uncalled for in my opinion. Again, where i live now in december, ive only had to turn the heat on twice and my bill has only been 45 dollars. This more than makes up for the 100 dollars more we are spending in rent!
5...Laundry.....is relatively okay if you enjoy having a set time period when you are allowed to do it. My husband and i have very busy schedules with work and school and sometimes we would need to do laundry after 10 pm...but at the marott this is not possible. No, they do not simply turn off the washer and dryer, or lock the room...but they bump up the price of a load to like 10 bucks!!! insaaaaane! Another thing about the laundry room...there is one on every floor...and my neighbors would have wild parties in there at 3 am every weekend. I would call down to the desk, and it was pretty much ingnored.
These things unfortunately were enough to send us to another downtown community.
Overall, it is a pretty nice community to live in...we were just tired of the above conditions.
