Mayfield Green Cooperative is a great place for families to life.

I have lived in Mayfield Green for over 25 years. I have raised all of my children and now my grandchildren on this beautiful property. Over the last 25 years I have watched various Boards of Directors and Management Company's doing various upgrades, in fact, some more than others. But in the last seven years, our current Board of Directors and Management Company have done so many improvements, both inside of the individual townhouses as well as outside of the buildings.

Mayfield Green has done an awesome job in making sure that not only the interior and exterior parts of the buildings are maintenanced and maintained, but have also given back to the community by helping meeting some of the members need. For example, during the holidays, the Board of Directors give out gift cards, and I'm talking about $100.00 to $200.00 gift cards to various families in need. In fact, I know of two different families where the Board of Directors have allowed some of the staff at Mayfield Green take various families with children shopping and have spent anywhere from $500.00 - $700.00 per family. Also, during the Thanksgiving Holiday they give out grocery bags of food along with a butterball turkey. I know this for sure because I have received two over the last four years. At Halloween they give all the children bags of candy to where they don't have to go trick-or-treating anywhere else unless they choose to.

Finally, at the end of every July, the Board of Directors sponsor a member appreciation day where it is called the Annual Summer Community Festival and now thousands (it used to be hundreds)of various people come out and celebrate with us. The festivities of the day normally include children playing on the many huge inflatbles, back-to-school supplies are given away to not only Mayfield Green members, but any child that is in need, a 3-on-3 basketball tournament, in-door healthfair, a very large garage sale that takes place on the parking lot of the leasing office, various vendors volunteer their services by coming out to meet various needs of the community, and it is patrolled with security. And last but not least, they have food catered in free of charge for all of their members. Anyone who is not a member is able to purchase food at a very affordable cost. I don't know of any other apartment complex or community who gives back to their own like Mayfield Green members.

As far as the amenities go, in the last seven years, each member have received new
fencing, new cabinets and counter tops, new windows, new bathroom vanities, new front and back custom made security doors, new roofing, new siding, new soffits, new gutters, new shutters, new playground equipment, a brand new community resource center, a new leasing office and maintenance garage (you would have had to see the old one of 40 years to be able to appreciate all of this). We also have a brand new fitness center with all brand new equipment where all of Mayfield Green members (and even some family and friends) can workout for only $10.00 a month. And most of all, Mayfield Green is currently building a state of the art swimming pool that is going to be awesome. It is almost finished, so it probably won't be open until next summer. Ah, by the way, we have all just received new installed ADT alarm systems where Mayfield Green pays the bill (the only thing they won't pay for is false alarms). Also, the grounds are impeccable. In fact, I believe it is our landscaping that draws attention to many people who want to live here.

The office and maintenance staff are always professional and courteous, even when those members who are nasty with them don't respect them. The rent is very affordable for what they offer. In fact, I don't know of any other property like ours that offer what we have at the rate of rent that we pay. That is why I have been out here so long and have not sought to purchase a house. Mayfield Green is not just a community, it is home.
