We have lived at Oak Lake for a couple of years. When we first moved in, the place was really good...excellent property management, reliable maintenance, etc. However, over the past couple of years it has been going steadily downhill. As another reviewer said, expect to get a LOT of attitude when you need maintenance. Also, there is constant turnover in office management, which is a real red flag for experienced apartment dwellers. They put a sign up a few months ago advertising "Large Pets Accepted" and believe me, the dog owners have flocked in. And I?m not talking little lap dogs...there was a guy living near us recently who had two hunting dogs that howled constantly. The closet doors in our unit are absolute garbage, we have taken several of them off track because they just fall apart all the time. The lights that they do have in the parking lot are virtually worthless, which does not deter occasional vandalism and car break-in?s. A minor but telltale display of deteriorating conditions is that there are continual & flagrant violations of handicapped parking.
