Okay, I usually don't do these things, but recently referred a friend and after reading the reviews she wanted to know the truth. I would definitely recommend Oak Lake to my friends. I have really enjoyed my stay here. I have a great apartment for a great price. I would like my 2nd bedroom to be a little bigger, but given the price, I can't complain. Parking is sometimes an issue, but that is typical in any apartment complex. All I had to do was call the office and that day, I was issued a carport right in front of my door. And, it was only $15 a month, which is really cheap. My old complex charged $30. This place seems pretty full these days, so I can't imagine that there are that many unhappy people here. I am happy to live in a pet friendly community where there is nice scenery to look at while I walk my dog. The grounds are pretty nice, and I think things seem well kept. I am a little tired of all the construction, but it has to be done and will make the complex look better in the end.

I have never had any problems with the staff. I usually put my rent in the box, so I don't interact with them too much. I have always been greeted with a wave and smile when I see them out and about. Maintenance has always fixed my problems within a day or so, so that's always been satisfactory.

I would definitely invite my friends to look at an apartment here. Good staff, nice layout, and awesome location (lots of fun and shopping close by).

Hey Manager lady! Manager? You need to stop wasting time trying to make this place get a better rating on this site, and worry more about making the community better by vacating all residents and bulldozing the entire area and starting anew! Sounds like an awesome idea to me! :)

Even though I don't care for the manager because of the attitude she gave me every single time I saw her. May it be the look she gave me or the tone of her voice she just can???t hold it back. This place really isn???t as bad as recommended number shows. It should at least be a 45%. If neighbors would learn how to be quiet, quit playing their music in their car so loud or at least with half as much bass, especially later at night, things would be even better. ------ An improvement that might be better to make more residences feel safer would be to add security cameras around the place and a back-up generator for when the power went out to keep the lights on and some security cameras on. I would get some engineers, electricians, and plumbers out to make sure that the whole place is up to code as well. I know my old apartment wasn???t, but I didn???t want to deal with getting attitude so I just didn???t even bother. Another idea might to be to have a form and/or forum on your website for residence to communicate, post ideas for better events, post ideas for how to better the property, and voice any concerns more freely. ------ It really isn???t that bad of a place, it needs to be overhauled again inside and out for the buildings themselves. Dated bathroom, kitchen, and so on??? the place is over 20 years old I believe though, so you will have some major things to keep an eye on. If I was the manager I would just have some specialist come out and check each apartment really good over the next couple years to make sure they are all up to code, that there are some problems that no one knows about, and maybe to make it so you can???t hear your neighbors have a conversation with your and their TV on.
