I moved in Feb 2008 and I've had maintence over to my apartment at least 5 times already for the water heater, and other nickle and dime issues.

I like the staff and the maintence people. Unlike other apartments I've lived in, you actually know who works for the apartment company. One of two people will come to your apartment to fix whatever and normally there very prompt.

The area is pretty quiet. The grounds are clean. This will probably be our last apartment. I'm kind of on the fence about living here because of so many maintence problems and I still have more issues that I will be calling in.

Like I said, it's OK. :/

haha, i know what will push you over the fence, if you hear about the crimes that have happened in the apartment complex, between vehicles being broken into, a guy beaten and apartment robbed, and many other things. Be careful... oh yeah, my apartment had 8 maintenance calls required in the first 3 months. the maintenance people were real nice, definitely like them.

Yeah! I had the same issues! The first 4 months of living there I had probably 10 maintenance calls in. The apt cleanliness wasn't great at all. There was urine on the toilet seat that easily could have been wiped up upon my move in day. There are many things that appeared to be 1/2 a$$ed attempts at remodeling the place, like 10 yrs ago. Overall, this place is barely mediocre. The office staff is condescending at times. I didn't like much of anything about this place. There is a lot of thug activity happening here too!!!

Thanks for the comments guys, but I haven't seen any "thug" activity and I hope I don't. Like I said, its pretty quite; no loud music bummping in the complex only on payne rd. Like I said before, I like the staff, but I don't like the fact that I have to call maintence for every little thing. On top of my last post, we've had an ubelievalbe spider problem. I have never seen so many spiders in my LIFE. I consider myself and my family a clean household and the spiders are in our bedrooms on the ceilings and in the living room. I've called maintance about that too. They've called some exterminater twice and it hasn't worked yet. This will be our last apartments.

Thug activity?? here?? What planet you live on? I've not seen any such thing. LOL, tell me the time and place. I would like to see this. I will for sure come back acknowledge it. This apartment complex, OAK LAKE I am speaking of, by far... OUTSTANDING! Yes, Oak Lake "got problems" what apartment complex doesn't. That's why we have these people called "Maintenance". So we don't have to do the dirty job for the rent price we pay. Oak Lake is one of the Indianapolis' finest!!

I'm considering moving into Oak Lake. The property looks nice, although I'm not familiar with the complex, if you are a resident, I would be appreciative if you could give me your opinions. I like the Buckeye floorplan (1 bedroom apt.) I was unable to view this apartment because they didn't have any to show. Does there seem to be enough space? Because it faces the parking lot is it noisy? Can you hear much from apartment above? Anything you're willing to share would be great. Thanks.
