Don't Live Here If You Want To Be Happy

I moved in to Overlook about a year ago and I have been miserable ever since. I am moving out soon and I can't wait. The cold, hard truth of the matter is that this place caters to mostly young, college kids who don't really feel they need to take responsibilty for anything they do. It is that way with the management staff as well. Initially we thought this place was great; it was close to the interstate, shopping, restaurants, and units were new. Little did we know, we had just signed a lease in hell for the next year of our lives. Finding a parking space is like finding a needle in haystack...literally. If you get home after 6:30 pm, good luck. I usually have to park at least 50 feet away, if not more. Also, the trash compactor is ALWAYS over-flowing and broken, and it smells. I know b/c I live right next to it. We also live behind a bar...they claimed it wasn't an issue but 4 nights of the week, my pounding walls lead me to believe otherwise, while a bunch of drunken idiots parade around outside trying to find their cars in our parking lot b/c the one at the bar was full. Trust me, it's not funny at 3 am when you have to work the next day. The pool is a whole other story...if you want a tiny pool filled with college kids and 10 of their friends all day, everyday, then this is your place. Beer cans, cigarette butts, and trash litter the area as well. Not very kid friendly...wouldn't want to cut their foot on that broken Heineken bottle. Did I mention that more than once I have stepped on broken glass IN THE POOL! Also, cars speed through this parking lot like it's a raceway. More than once I have almost been hit by some kid on their cell phone in a car that mommy and daddy paid for. My last comment would be that the maintenance leaves something to be desired. We had to ask like 5 times to have something fixed, and 2 months later they finally got around to it.
If you are looking for the college campus, residence hall, dorm room experience, then this is your place. Otherwise...look elsewhere. It is definitely NOT worth the money or the headache.
