I lived at Riley Towers for a little over a year with mixed feelings. The staff is generally pretty nice and professional. The security staff... it is nice to have them, but they tend to have some issues. Especially the skinny ------- American guy... who I think wants to be a real cop... I would compare him to having a rent a cop attitude. I had some issues with him trying to kick my friends out of the parking circle and things, and the manager actually had a talk with him about easing up a bit when it makes sense to. Lots of homeless people and beggars that prey on the residents here. It is a requirement to be friendly to the alternative community to live here. Can be sort of scary on the upper floors during storms, but once you get used to it... well it is a rush. Having the Murat across the street I thought was great until I moved in. When they have concerts there it is almost unbearable. I could not sleep do to the booming of the bass from the indoor concerts, and the outdoors ones... well I felt like I had free tickets. I could even make out the words of the bands playing, that is how loud it is. Maint. is pretty good for the most part. I had not issues here, which is WAY more than I can say for most apartment communities. The views are absolutely wonderful, 4th of July magical, and I would not trade that experience for anything... but cool air! The air/heating units have knobs, which make you think you can control the temperature right' Wrong! It just gives the illusion of it. You can turn the air or heat up and down, but only within the temperature range the office has the central system turned too. For example, in the summer my unit would get no cooler than 81 degrees with the air full blast, and I would have to call and literally battle with the staff to have air turned down. Then the next day it would be reset to the high temp again. This was really the biggest issue I had with this place. The appliances could be replaced, and some basic remodeling... but I think they are starting to do that now. You can decide for yourself.
