Wouldn't want to live anywhere else

Well, I think I owe a review to this website, since I used Apartmentratings.com heavily 12 months ago, when I was looking for a place to live. I used the internet to do a significant amount of research before I came to the USA, and perhaps unsurprisingly, the place I ended up living was the place that I had found the most information and the most positive reviews about before I even arrived. My criteria were: a 1 or 2 bedroom apartment for about $1k/month. I was originally looking in the Carmel, because I had heard it was a nice place to live (according to CNN-money surveys) and I was moving to the area to start a new job. When I got here, I looked around at the places I had researched online, and a few other places I found that were not listed online. Having been shown a couple of other apartments by a realtor before coming to River Crossing on my own, the first thing I noticed was a big difference in the quality of the apartments. The three different models I was shown on my first visit here were much cleaner and vastly more pleasant in design than the apartments I had seen in a similar price range. The tour was an excellent first impression, which has lasted.
Ultimately I decided to lease a 2-bedroom, and have been extremely happy with the place. The buildings are very well insulated; I have rarely noticed any traffic noise inside my apartment. Nor have I noticed any sounds from my neighbors to speak about. The central heating/cooling and appliances work well, and have never had a problem that wasn't able to be fixed within the day by maintenance. It's great to have a fireplace in winter; admittedly it's more for ambience in the most part but if you are relaxing in front of it the warmth is considerable.
I also have good things to say about the River Crossing amenities. The office facilities include a couple of net computers and a fax/copier which came in handy (before I bought my own computer,). The workout gym is quite good in my opinion; there are several cardio machines (ellipticals, treadmills, stairs, bikes), free weights and a cable/weight rack. I really enjoyed working out there for the first 8 months or so, and then when my work hours got longer, I joined a 24hr gym which is less than 5 mins up the road. The pool is really enjoyable to use in summer. Plenty of room around the sides to sit and enjoy the sun, with shaded areas and tables. There is also a volleyball court, tennis courts and a basketball ring.
The office staff has been fantastic; they're always approachable and friendly, and helpful with any queries or requests. The after hours clubhouse staff included. They let us know when packages are delivered to the office for collection, and have contacted us in the past to make sure we were happy with maintenance service request completion. The staff have run several enjoyable social events throughout the past year, including a wine-tasting night, a pool party/bbq in summer, kids and adults parties and a Christmas party which was great.
I can honestly say if asked, that I would not want to rent an apartment anywhere else, which is why I signed a new lease this year. Most of the local people I speak to have either heard of River Crossing apartments or know someone who has lived there at some point, and nobody has ever had anything negative to say. Therefore I can strongly recommend River Crossing apartments to Apartmentratings.com users.
