Not bad, especially for the price!!

First off, this apartment complex is NOT located in Carmel!! Last time I checked, my address said Indianapolis.

Anyway, not a terrible place to live for the price, which is by far the cheapest in the Castleton/96th St./82nd St./Allisonville Road area. I paid NO deposit and the application fee was waived!!

Security has never been an issue and I've never had big problems or concerns with parking my mid-90's Honda Accord, but I definitely would not feel safe with parking a brand new Volvo either (which is why I'm waiting to move out before I buy it) since the ratio of nice cars to crappy cars is easily 1/20 and door dings are common as are bad park jobs. But you can almost always park right in front of your door too no matter what time of day, which is nice!

I definitely feel safe at all times of the day or night, noise is not a problem at all either, in fact the unit across from me on the 2nd floor has remained vacate the entire time of my lease here!!) Despite a large population of --------, they've always seemed to keep to themselves.

My main complaints would be that the appliances are all old, but they all work fine. However, my carpet is worn to hell and must be original ever since the 90's. The fitness "room" is more like a closet, and all the equipment is busted, so don't expect to use it. Other than that, the overall appearance of the complex is dated and looks kind of ghetto (definitely nothing like all the new places around Keystone Mall).

On the positive side, it's definitely very quite (in addition to the unit across from me being vacate the whole time, the unit below me was also vacate for about 4 months). My view overlooks a man-made lake is literally worth a million bucks!! Maintainance staff has been awesome and every time I've called from work around 10:00 am about a problem, it is always fixed when I come home from work at 5:30 pm.

If I weren't wanting a new car and if I could pay my rent by check (one innocent and accidental bounced check required me to only pay by money order!) and if I didn't feel so embarassed bringing back chicks I met in Broad Ripple to my apartment I would probably be staying and I actually feel pretty nervous moving to Lakeshore Apartments now after reading the reviews on here, but I'm also afraid as to what it would cost me to renew and stay now that I already filed my termination paper!
