The only reason I stayed at River Road for 3 1/2 years was because it was the cheapest apartment in the area. However, I have a LONG list of reasons for the low price. The office staff and especially management is rude and very unhelpful. The grounds have the potential to be lovely, but most of the courtyards outside the apartments are full of weeds taller than me. Some of them have old mattresses and sofas on them. Many of them are covered in animal feces and the smell is rancid. The pool and hot tub are like giant bath tubs. I would not feel safe swimming in them. I had ants swarming my apartment on more than one occasion, I had water leaks from the upstairs apartment that maintenance came repeatedly to fix, but apparently did not because eventually my ceiling fell through. The apartment complex is supposed to be patroled by security, but while I lived there, there were 2 shootings, 2 peeping toms, and a friend of mine was actually BITTEN BY ANOTHER PERSON in the laundry room when they found the person was stealing their laundry. The parking areas and especially the areas behind the apartments are not well lit, and I was nervous walking from my car into my apartment. When I told management that 4 out of 5 lights on the back of my building were not working they told me that so many lights didn't work in the complex and did I know how much it would cost to fix all of them!! I'm going to stop now because I could go on and on...

Maybe I just live in the better part of the complex, but I don't think that the apartments are that bad. The management has also always been very helpful to me. Maybe this person just had a bad experience and wants to be as dramatic as possible about it
