Going downhill but hopefully that will change

Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2008
My husband and I have lived in Riverchase since August of 2006. I loved the apartment at first, as we had a two bedroom that was beautiful and the JC Hart employees were great helping us work out a way to put our pet deposit down in payment plans.
We downgraded to a 1 bedroom due to a new job where I will be traveling a lot. When Greystar took over here at the beginning of April, I think it was, things have really changed. The population of residences has really diminished and the quality of tenants is taking a huge dive. People are sadly representing a more ghetto preference as they blare music, have late night parties, and fights in the parking lots. In addition to this, Greystar staff has been very rude and seems to only want their money not to know our names or care about their tenants.
The dog waste situation is getting out of hand- it is everywhere! In addition, the place looks like a mess since Greystar is remodeling. There is tire tracks in almost all of the yard spaces between the buildings and wood piles everywhere, making it hard to walk your pet. They didn't even mow the lawn until like mid June! The pool is out of commission and it has taken their maintence staff much longer than JC Harts to get to things we need fixed. People also rarely put their pets on leashes, and I can't tell you how many times dogs have scared the crap out of me and my small puppy dog while on walks!
In addition, our neighbor below us got broken into about a month ago. Break ins had happened for the last 6 months and the staff was putting out warnings about such, but even on our new apartment it is clear that security hasn't always been safe. There are crow bar marks on our storage door when we got it, and there was also a dead bolt that someone had installed before us.
On the other hand, Riverchase is a nice property. They have a great work out room and a nice view in the back with the stream. Parking typically isn't a problem, and it is great to have a pet friendly neighborhood. I have heard that Greystar does great things with their properties, and although my husband and I are moving to the north side to be closer to his new job, I hope Greystar can work some magic because Riverchase is looking like a hot mess right now!
I also would highly recommend Jc Hart properties, they are always great people and very flexible. We are hoping to move into Ashley place, and they are waving our pet deposit since Riverchase is a previous JC Hart property!
