To be honest it s not too bad here. There are some crimes, maintenance takes a while to get something fix but overall the apartments are pretty nice. People have to understand this is the capital of Indiana there is no area that is 100% crime free. These apartments are reasonably priced, it has a nice pool and workout room, and they do keep the property presentable. Some people complain that the gate does not work trust me I lived in a gated community before and every time there was a storm or some snow the gates broke and your could not get out.

We are talking about the same Salem Courthouse apartments, right? Maintenance is absolutely horrendous - they never pick up trash around the complex, there are several electrical boxes, cable boxes and hvac boxes that are broken into or completely dismantled, they never put down any salt on either the sidewalks or drives and half of the security lights and poles in the complex are either not working or completely broken and knocked down. Yes, there's no place that's 100% crime free, but I'd be happy with any improvement. 3 of the 6 apartments in my building have been broken in to. And if they won't fix the gates, then the least they could do is make all the buildings key access - that would help deter any crime that may occur.
