Reconsider.....if you have the money to

At first look it seemed fine. Office was friendly grounds were kept nice. It seemed to have all the ammenities I would need. Though the longer I lived here the more I realized things were not as they seemed. The mant. team is under staffed for the amount of apartments and work they are doing. Too many apartments with too many problems for them to handle efficently and in a good timely manner. These apartments are overcrowded and noise violations are not delt with. There seems to be no concequence for noise and music vibrations that last sometimes all night and into the next day. I know people make noise but after speaking with them and their refusal and then to the leasing office and they did nothing I had to call the cops with noise complaints after months of talking with no avail. The apartments are falling apart. Things are constantly breaking coming off and not working. In the master bathroom the only outlet broke and they came 4 times and it still doesnt work properly. The appliances are dated and work sub par when they work at all. The paint the apartment uses to freshen up the walls come right off when trying to wash the walls. The carpets seem to be the most stainable carpets I have ever seen. Spill something clean it right up and treat the carpet there is still a stain. I had to wait four months to get someone to come out and look at the dryer (I rented from the apartment) because it was causing a half load to take four times to dry. The vent was completely clogged from never being cleaned out. The only thing I think the office cares about is keeping the look of the grounds up to trick new tenants into thinking they well maintain the entire property. The community is gated but it is more of a hassle then a blessing. The gates are constantly broken and when they are working the electronic entry device barely works. I moved to a larger apartment in 08 and in the first week i was in my living room and my door was kicked in. The office was no help and it took the maintance team a month to repair and upgrade my door. The wind catches the doors in the 2 bedroom complex and slams them at all hours. In the summer time there are dead fish around the lake. Across the street there is a inexpensive apartment complex with a abundance of crimanal activity. Everyday I hear ambulances or cop cars. In the summer I would without doubt hear atleast 3 gunshots a week sometimes more. One instance a gun shot hit my brick balchony. Kids are running wild and crowding up the hallway where i live. Throwing rocks and hitting cars. I popped two tires on broken beer bottles. Beer bottles are everywhere around the complex. If you value maintance, saftey, and peace do not move to scarborough lake apartments. If you don't have the money for something a little better then this apartment isn't the worst in the area. The one across the street is leagues worse. The only thing I can say is try to get a apartment away from the street. Of try for a three bedroom several cops live in those that would be the quietest and safest location.
