In the year that I?ve lived here, management has changed 4 times. The way they communicate with tenants is by posting information on the tenant?s doors (yes, legal information). Although I?ve always paid my rent on time, I received a notice posted on my door that said that I ?owed? them $9.00 or I?d be sued! This matter was cleared up with management (I didn?t owe them anything -- they credited my account $1.00). Still it?s humiliating to have legal notices posted on your door when you get home from a long day at work. The entire building stinks of cigarette smoke and there are cigarette butts strewn about on the carpeted hallways (fire safety issue'!)often you can find beer cans/bottles sitting in the window sills or stairwells. I guess it?s fairly evident that the majority of the tenants have little self-pride. The pervading mind-set here is: if you are poor, then you must act poor. Although in the rental contract there is a ?no loitering? clause, management has no problem with tennants sitting right outside the main entrance to the building smoking and attracting degenerates from the nearby (very shady) neighborhood. I?m very much looking forward to my lease ending here. I?ve never ever lived in a more trashy place! I can?t use more than one appliance in the kitchen at once or the power in my entire apartment goes out. Or, if my microwave is on and simultaneously I?m blow-drying my hair, the power in my entire apartment goes out. When I first moved in, I had to sign a form stating that I wouldn?t eat/touch/alter the paint in my apartment due to many many years of shoddy painting and the fact that they?ve left all the lead-based paint on the walls.
