I've been here for almost 2 years and have never ever had anything fixed with less than 3 phone calls. I went 6 months without screens in my windows because someone showed up one day to replace them, but only took the old ones out and never returned.
It took 4 weeks after I moved in (in the middle of summer) to get them to fix my air conditioner; my bedroom window still will not open, after repeated requests to have it fixed.
My bathroom door will not close, so when they FINALLY came out to do something about it, they put some kind of spackle up on the top of the door frame just to make the door stick, instead of fixing it so it will latch. So now you have to jam it shut and pray that you have enough strength to push/pull it back open.
There are two washers and two dryers (which are very poor) in a building with roughly 30 residents. There is never anywhere to park. We have gated parking and codes on the doors, but everyone in the world knows the codes to all of the gates and doors because Van Rooy has never changed them. Therefore, anyone who has ever lived here, or visited here, knows the codes and has complete access to everything. Not as secure as they'd like you to think!!
If you actually do move in here, and there are problems with your apartment that they tell you will be fixed before you move in, make them put it in writing, because they didn't do a single thing they said they would do to mine. It's been 2 years and some of those things still haven't been fixed. But I just don't have the energy to keep calling and complaining with no results.
It's a HUGE headache - DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR YOUR MONEY- Van Rooy doesn't care about anything but money. Once you live here, you are just a paycheck to them.
