Although these apartments have a certain nostalgia to them (built in 1919) if you live the older architecture, they are not worth what they cost. The walls are thin, the floors are wood which is nice, but you can hear your upstairs neighbor walking in high heels very well, if anyone smokes in the apartments near you, your apartment will smell like smoke (be it tobacco or marijuana), the maintanance is slow, and the parking lot is a mess. I work third shift and wake up a few times a day due to sirens driving down Meridian or the occasional loud tenant. The biggest complaint is that recently Van Rooy has been showing the apartment because my lease is nearing its end and I am not renewing. I have told them I sleep during the day and if they need to schedule appointments for showings, please call me in advance. Twice now, I have woken up to a Van Rooy represetative showing the place in the middle of the day while I'm sleeping. They never called, never posted a note on my door, etc. The most inconsiderate company I have ever rented from. I highly recommend a more modern or well kept building if this is your price range. For the same price you can get another 200 sq. ft. closer to downtown. NOT RECOMMENDED.
